Speech and Language Therapy, Auditory Training and Occupational Therapy services are available to all of our students based on individual needs.
The Speech, Language, and Auditory Therapy program is critical to the specialized care of CEID’s D/HH students. Speech and Language Pathologists (SLPs), Reyhaneh Rajabzadeh and Katherine Anderson provide individualized therapy to students in both groups and one on one settings. Carol Lettko, SLP at CEID for over 23 years, consults and mentors with the team to ensure the excellence of this highly specialized program. Assessments are made of each child’s unique language and communication needs and goals are created to focus on areas of development that are showing delays. Language areas include receptive language (comprehension); expressive language (relaying wants and needs); auditory skills (listening), and articulation skills (producing understandable spoken language). CEID works with the whole family, prioritizing specific concerns to develop personalized goals for each child. CEID’s speech and language therapists create fun play-based, motivating, and engaging sessions while at the same time targeting these goals. The emphasis is on making communication a fun and rewarding experience.
Our licensed Occupational Therapist provides intensive support to children and focuses on building fine motor, gross motor, oral motor and sensory integration skills.
